UI Kit or updated Sample App for React Native

Hi,

We recently started developing our first (React Native) project with Amity for providing chat functionalities. But we found out that it is quite time consuming to build everything from scratch based on the SDK and documentation.

Our first thought was to use the Sample App (GitHub - AmityCo/Amity-Social-Cloud-React-Native-Sample-App) as a basis and from there make the changes which are needed for our use case. Unfortunately, the Sample App seems out-of-date since a major Amity update for TypeScript was released previous month (6.0.0).

Are there any plans for an updated version of the Sample App being released soon, based on the latest version from Amity? Or even better, are there any plans to enroll an UI Kit for React Native in the near future? For chat, it’s now only available for native iOS and Android (Developer Kits - Amity Social Cloud).

Kind regard,
Geert

Hello, thank you for reaching out. I wanted to inform you that currently, we do not have any immediate plans to update the sample app. However, I would like to bring to your attention that we have recently developed a new React Native UI Kit for chat. You can find more details and access the open-source code for the UI Kit at the following GitHub repository: GitHub - AmityCo/Amity-Social-Cloud-UIKit-React-Native-OpenSource: React native ASC UIKit. Kindly let us know if you have further questions

Thanks for your reply! In the README we see this is still a beta version. Do you have any idea when the first official/stable release will be launched? And is this also the reason we didn’t find any references to this repo at https://www.amity.co/developer-kits yet?

Anyhow, we did a quick setup with the UI Kit and despite some little bugs (like the receiver name is not visible in the chats overview for private chats) it looks as a good starting point in the first place!

Hello @geert unfortunately, we do not have a specific timeline for it to be on our official docs/release at this moment.

Currently, the development of this feature is still ongoing, and occasional issues may arise. We appreciate your feedback, and we have shared it with our developers. Rest assured, we are committed to continuously improving the feature
